• Sanctity of Life

I do not believe the promises of the Declaration of Independence are just for the strong, the independent, the healthy. They are for everyone-including unborn children. – George W. Bush

Our government does not exist just to pave roads and deliver mail. The primary purpose of government is to protect the rights of the people, chief among those rights is the right to life, including the life of the unborn. It is our duty to protect life from the very moment it begins, up to the moment it reaches a natural end. That’s why I support legislation to define an unborn child as a living human being, entitled to Constitutional protection. Since Roe v. Wade, the abortion industry has killed more than 40 million children purely as a means of birth control, accounting for about 97% of abortions nationally. As a member of the General Assembly I will actively fight to protect women and their unborn children from the corrupt abortion industry.

  • Liberty

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”

The very first line in the Bill of Rights clearly declares the importance of religious liberties. If the right to religious expression is compromised, there can be no liberty. Unfortunately decades of lawsuits and court rulings have distorted the legal interpretation of the First Amendment. In the state of Georgia, protests and Fake News are protected to the highest degree possible, while religious expression is treated as a “second class” right. Why should flag burning be protected speech, but the Gospel is not? Our religious liberties must be restored to what the founders intended! That’s why I will fight for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which ensures that religious expression will receive the strongest protection possible.

  • Property

“Collecting more taxes than is absolutely necessary is legalized robbery” – Calvin Coolidge

Georgia’s economy has grown by leaps and bounds since the Great Recession, making us one of the best states in America to do business. That growth comes from your hard work. I think you should be able to keep the fruits of your labor, but our representatives seem more than happy to vote for new taxes. Republicans have controlled this state for almost two decades, yet we still haven’t had meaningful conservative tax reform. The answer is simple: less taxes and a simplified tax code. That’s why I am a proud supporter of a state Fair Tax.

  • Second Amendment

“I don’t understand why it is controversial for law-abiding citizens protecting themselves under the Second Amendment” ~ Jerry Falwell Jr

The Second Amendment is clear: the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. Georgia is one of the most conservative states in the country, yet it took years for us to finally get a watered down campus carry bill. We need representatives that truly believe in the right to bear arms.  Georgians should not need to pay a fee to exercise our constitutionally protected right. That’s why I am a proud supporter of Constitutional Carry.

  • Education

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education” – Martin Luther King Jr

My position on education is simple: we should be empowering parents and local school boards, not Atlanta bureaucrats. The General Assembly should stop passing “hidden taxes” that burden local governments and often restricts funding for education. Education funding is constitutionally mandated in Georgia, yet it always seems to be used for a political football. We need to stop the political games and let teachers teach.

  • Casino Gambling

“Gambling: the sure way of getting nothing for something” – Wilson Mizner

Lobbyists and special interest groups have spent millions and millions of dollars trying to ram casino gambling down our throat. The truth is, casino gambling is unconstitutional in Georgia. It has been tried in state after state, and the results are always the same. It would cripple the HOPE Scholarship, drive up crime and poverty, and cause drug use and human trafficking to run rampant in our state. While our representative can’t seem to decide where he stands on casinos, I have been fighting them every step of the way. As a contributor to The Resurgent I helped to shed light on an 11th hour trick to sneak casino gambling through during the 2017 legislative session. Georgians flooded their representatives with calls and emails, and the effort was stopped.
