About Sam

 

Sam grew up on the Thomas family farm in the small community of Brockton, just outside of Jefferson, Georgia. At an early age Sam became an avid outdoorsman, with a particular passion for fly fishing. He was an honor graduate from Piedmont College, where he studied environmental science and served two terms as the President of the Student Government Association. The night after graduation, Sam surrendered to the call to preach and is now the youth director at Jackson County Baptist Church in Jefferson, of which he is a charter member. Sam is a contributing writer at Southern Trout Magazine as well as Erick Erickson’s conservative political website, The Resurgent. As theĀ  coach of the Clark Atlanta University debate team, he became youngest ever Georgia Parliamentary Debate Coach of the Year during the 2016-2017 school year. Sam is a proud member of the Jackson County GOP and a staunch conservative.
